Home insurance paid for a year in new bank prize

People requesting a home insurance quote from Santander could have the opportunity to have their mortgage paid off for a year.

The offer is available to anyone who holds, or is applying for, a Santander mortgage if they also ask for a full home insurance quote .

Miguel Sard, director of Santander Insurance UK, said: "This is a great opportunity for someone to be mortgage free for a year, at the cost of a simple enquiry into how best to get comprehensive cover for your home.

"In the current climate, offers like this are few and far between and we would encourage homeowners to make the most of the chance of this opportunity."

Around 1,000 Abbey and Bradford and Bingley branches were rebranded as Santander earlier this month.

Moneysupermarket calmed any worries of existing customers of those companies by reassuring them that Santander is a strong global bank and they would still be covered by British legislation meaning money could be recouped even if the bank runs into trouble.
