The Post Office is offering home insurance customers extra cover if there is a wedding in the family.
With a new report suggesting that gifts with an average value of £1,900 will often be around the house after a wedding, there are obvious concerns that some contents may not be covered.
However, the Post Office has announced that it will increase cover by ten per cent, without any extra cost, for one month either side of a wedding.
This is in addition to the company's decision to give the same extra cover during the Christmas period, another time of the year when there may be extra valuables around the house.
Last year, Hiscox revealed that 53 per cent of newly-married couples had failed to tell their insurer about any extra new valuables around the house, meaning they risked being underinsured.
The insurance company offers 25 per cent extra cover for up to 60 days after a wedding, meaning homeowners do not have to worry straight after tying the knot.
