Homeowners have once again been warned about the dangers of posting too much personal information online, something that could affect some insurance prices .
Dutch website PleaseRobMe recently exposed the dangers of using geo-location services by pointing out people who have exposed themselves to the risk of burglary by Twittering their absence from home .
Despite being concerned about the tactics of the website Tony Neate, managing director of Get Safe Online, agrees that people need to be more careful when using social networking and other service.
He said: People should not post their addresses for a start. We need to control what we do on social networking sites because personal information is very valuable today.
Confused.com recently predicted that home insurance premiums could rise by ten per cent for people who use social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.
The company recommended that addresses and phone numbers should never be posted on these type of sites.
