Home insurance provider Churchill has slashed its prices for buildings and contents cover by a half.
Customers who purchase both home insurance policies together before the end of the month (May 31st) will receive the offer.
The company has said that the deal will help those looking to cut back during the recession to save money while retaining protection on their property .
Martin Scott, head of Churchill Home Insurance, said that many people do not realise they can also add extras such as legal expenses cover which could provide cover for legal costs in a wide range of circumstances including employment or redundancy disputes.
Churchill is also offering car insurance customers free breakdown cover with their policies from now on.
The home insurance deal matches that made by Barclays, which also cut its prices by 50 per cent, with an extra 10 per cent off for internet customers.
