Confused.com extends home insurance choices

Price comparison website Confused.com has added more firms to its home insurance panel, it has been announced.

Among the companies now offering home insurance services through the provider are Asda and Hastings direct .

Options offered on Asda's home insurance policies include new for old cover and accidental damage protection for wedding and Christmas gifts .

Peter Ablett, commercial director at Confused.com, said: With our new website now live, our customers will be able to find the best policies at the right prices from one of the largest panels of providers in the market today.

People using the service can now pick from 90 per cent more home insurance offers than they could at the start of 2008, he added.

Recently, Sainsbury's Home Insurance advised people who are planning on taking a long holiday to tell their policy provider about their plans.

Those who fail to do so run the risk of invalidating their home insurance, the company warned.
