RSA and National Trust offer home insurance discount

RSA is offering a 50 per cent discount for anyone who takes out a combined National Trust (NT) buildings and content home insurance policy .

The insurance company has formed a partnership with the NT, meaning that people can now get home insurance cover through the conservation body.

As well as offering a 50 per cent discount on home insurance, the policy is also aimed at supporting the NT's commitments to the environment, with all materials being printed on recycled paper .

The NT will also receive a donation for every home insurance policy sold through the partnership.

Lesley Lawrie, corporate partnership manager for the NT, said: By choosing National Trust insurance, our supporters will not only be protecting their own homes and contents, but helping the Trust protect its hundreds of historic homes and buildings across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Yesterday, Martyn Fould, senior claims manager at Halifax Home Insurance, advised people to prepare their property for storms to avoid having to claim on their policy.
