With the Leeds and Reading events rounding off the festival season this weekend (August 28th-30th), the Post Office has advised music-lovers to remember their home insurance .
According to research by the company, over £2.3 billion-worth of belongings will be taken to festivals this summer and this needs to be protected from theft or damage under adequate home insurance.
Some nine per cent of those attending outdoor events have experienced loss or theft of personal possessions while enjoying a festival as more expensive equipment is taken with them.
Richard Pennant-Jones, head of general insurance for the Post Office, said: It is easy for people to get caught up in the fun of the festival ... they should check their home insurance contents policy to be clear what personal possessions are covered automatically and whether they need to get extra cover.
esure also recently said that home insurance could protect any late summer festival-goers against the loss or damage of any items.
