Nationwide Building Society has launched a new home insurance promotion which promises to lower customer's quotes .
The firm guarantees that it will offer customers switching to the firm a lower home insurance quote than last year or refund the difference up to £100.
It is also offering a 30 per cent discount when people purchase buildings and contents insurance together online.
John Baker, Nationwide's head of insurance, said: "This latest offer from Nationwide could give people looking to switch their home insurance provider the opportunity to pay the same as they did last year and avoid adding further costs to their household bills."
The firm also offers "extensive cover" as well as "excellent" customer care, he added.
Recently, the Guardian reported comments by Peter Gerrard, spokesperson for price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com, who suggested that people with young children might want to consider adding accidental damage cover to their home insurance policy .
