A new home insurance policy aimed at properties undergoing refurbishment has been launched.
The insurance product, issued by Marsh, is aimed at providing more protection for people who are undertaking work on their home, reports Insurance Daily.
According to the news provider, the new home insurance product offers greater cover for hazards such as fire, falling trees and flooding .
The policy also covers the homeowner and contractor preventing wrangling over responsibility should a loss occur, the website states.
According to Marsh, properties are often renovated without the owner being fully aware of the impact it could have on their home insurance cover .
Yesterday, the Saga Group warned new students that they could be a target for burglars.
The firm warned people to make sure their property is covered by a home insurance policy in case something does happen.
Students should also make sure that their home is secure to reduce the chances of them falling victim to crime.
