People must make sure they do not fall victim to Halloween pranksters, one home insurance expert has advised.
Rachael Stiles, home insurance spokesperson for Fairinvestment.co.uk, warned that it is more than just ghosts which could go bump in the night this weekend.
To be on the safe side, remove any items from outside the home and put them somewhere secure, she said.
People should also make sure that they park their car in their garage or somewhere out of the way, Ms Stiles added.
Householders should also check their home insurance policy to make sure that it covers them for malicious damage, in case things get out of hand, she stated.
Yesterday, esure warned people to make sure their home insurance policy includes personal liability cover if they are planning a fireworks party.
Hosts could face a claim against them if something goes wrong because of their negligence, the firm pointed out.
