People should check their home insurance covers all the things that Christmas might bring, one expert has warned.
Steve Kendall, sales and operations director for Norwich and Peterborough Insurance Brokers, explained that people should make sure they are not in for any nasty surprises.
He said: Spilling mulled wine on your favourite carpet would be stressful enough, but finding out that your policy doesn't cover you because it was accidental damage would be even more stressful.
This means that people should check the small print of their home insurance and make sure there needs are accounted for, Mr Kendall added.
People might also want to make sure their home insurance firm offers a 24 hour emergency claim line, he stated.
Recently, Defaqto warned people to make sure that their home insurance covers any damage that might be caused by their pets .
This is particularly important at this time of year as fireworks can easily startle animals, the firm claimed.
