Halifax freezes home insurance

Thu, 15 May 2008

Customers are being offered one last chance to freeze their home insurance premiums for the next three years.

The Halifax Home Insurance Beat and Freeze deal promises to offer customers a lower quote than their current provider and then not increase the premium for three years.

The offer applies to new customers who take out both buildings and contents insurance with the firm.

Tom Woolgrove, managing director of Halifax Home Insurance, said: "In today's difficult economic climate, and after last year's floods, many homeowners may benefit from knowing they have unlimited cover and their home insurance premiums will remain consistently affordable for the next three years."

Anyone who wants to take advantage of the home insurance offer needs to do so before May 31st, he added.

Earlier this week, writing for Fool.co.uk, Serena Cowdy claimed that now is a good time to take out a home insurance policy as prices have been falling lately.
