Heavily discounted home insurance products might not offer consumers the best deal, one expert has warned.
According to Myfinances.co.uk, while a price war has broken out between home insurance providers, people will still need to shop around to make sure they are getting the best deal.
Speaking to the website, Neil Laid, home insurance manager at Sainsbury's said: "Home insurance policies vary dramatically so its essential people compare policies not only on price but also on the level of cover they provide."
The report adds that people should always shop around when looking for home insurance, whether it be for an entirely new policy or when their current provision comes up for renewal.
Last week, price comparison website Confused.com claimed that the current economic situation means it is even more vital that people get the best possible deal on their home insurance.
Debar Williams, managing director of the firm, said people could save hundreds pf pounds on their home insurance by looking for a better deal.
