Direct Line has launched what it is calling an all-inclusive home insurance policy .
According to the firm, the new home insurance product will offer cover for buildings and contents as well as personal possessions such as handbags and credit cards .
Other options in the home insurance policy include ID fraud assistance and legal protection.
Andrew Lowe, head of home insurance at Direct Line, said: When disaster strikes, it can be difficult to get everything back to normal quickly and conveniently.
Having one policy that covers everything makes the process simpler, easier and quicker.
The Home Insurance Plus policy should help people sort out any problems more quickly, he added.
Earlier this week, research by Tescocompare.com revealed that although installing an alarm is likely to deter burglars, it is not likely to lower the cost of someone's home insurance premium .
It found that people save on average £5 a year on their home insurance.
