Ensuring that home insurance covers legal costs could save people money if they become engaged in a dispute with their neighbours, one industry body has stated.
Kelly Ostler-Coyle, spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers, explained that while people might never need to use it, having such cover in a home insurance policy could come in handy.
She said: If you think [that] if you were to get into a legal argument you would not be able to afford those expenses, then it is something you should be thinking about when you take out your home insurance policy .
Ms Ostler-Coyle added that it something people will have to make a choice about when deciding what they want their home insurance policy to cover .
A recent study by Allianz Insurance found that a third of people have had some sort of disagreement with their neighbours, with 16 per cent blaming the argument on noisy people or loud music .
