Home insurance firms advise tornado victims

The midlands was a region left in tatters yesterday following a battering from the weather, which has lead several home insurance companies to give advice to homeowners in the area.

Customer services director of Lloyds TSB Insurance David Stoddard comments that householders should contact their home insurance firm immediately if they have been affected by the tornados that ripped through the region.

The best way to make sure a claim is dealt with quickly and efficiently is for customers to contact their insurer straight away, he remarks.

He adds that at times such as this, calls to home insurance companies can increase considerably.

Abbey stated that homeowners should always be prepared for the unexpected, particularly after this summer's flooding .

Head of home insurance marketing at the firm Prasad Shastri notes that homeowners should have learnt lessons from this summer and realised that having the right protection for your home and its contents is an essential part of homeownership.
