A quarter of Brits place their bedroom as the most important room in their house , a home insurance firm has found.
Research by Abbey Home Insurance has discovered that one in four homeowners consider the bedroom the heart of the home, with the average boudoir containing more than £4,000 worth of possessions.
As a nation, the research states that Brits spend £13 million on their bedrooms alone.
Head of insurance marketing at Abbey Prasad Shastri comments that home insurance is vital now that so much money is being spent on possessions.
With over a million people valuing the contents of their bedroom alone in excess of £10,000 it is vitally important that people check their insurance policy to ensure they are covered, he remarks.
Furthermore, homeowners should ensure that their home insurance includes additional cover for particularly expensive items.
Sainsbury's Bank released research recently that showed a quarter of personal loans are taken out to be used for home improvements , which householders hope will help them add value to their property.
