Wed, 03 Oct 2007

Sainsbury's Bank has announced that it will be cutting the cost of its home insurance policies .

Customers will be able to take advantage of savings when they buy a 12-month home insurance policy that is available for the price of nine months' cover.

In addition, web-savvy consumers can save extra by purchasing the home insurance policy online, which will offer them an additional ten per cent discount, the firm notes.

The home insurance policy provides unlimited buildings insurance, cover for accidental damage - including that caused by pets - and no extra premium attached for paying by direct debit .

Steve Johnson, head of home insurance at Sainsbury's bank said: "Home insurance policies vary dramatically so its essential people compare policies not only on price but also on the level of cover they provide."

He added that the various features of the home insurance policy available from his firm meant that it offered a great deal on cover, not just price.
