Home insurance provider unveils new price offer

Thu, 10 May 2007

Home insurance policyholders looking for a cheaper insurance renewal quote may be interested to learn about a new offer from Halifax.

Firstly, the financial services provider is offering to beat any home insurance renewal quote given out - it claims to undercut the average renewal premium by £105.

Secondly, homeowners may also be reassured to learn this home insurance premium is then fixed for the next three years, although if a claim is made this will be reviewed during each subsequent renewal anniversary.

Tom Woolgrove, managing director of Halifax Home Insurance, commented on the offer.

"We are currently the only insurer who aims to beat any competitor's renewal quote for buildings and contents insurance, and then promises to freeze that premium for a three-year period," he said.

Recently, home insurance provider Churchill Home Insurance reminded newlyweds about the importance of arranging adequate insurance cover.

According to its research, ten per cent of newly-married couples receive gifts that are collectively worth over £3,000 on their big day.

Consequently, the financial services specialist warned that some people may not be sufficiently insured in the event of a burglary.
