Many UK residents are have suffered damage and loss as a result of the recent flooding caused by heavy rain throughout the country, often resulting in a hefty home insurance claim.
And now home insurance providers are offering advice to those affected by the storms to minimise the effects of this potentially disastrous event.
More Than claims that the first thing a UK resident should do if affected by flooding is to contact their home insurance provider, as these companies have the skills and expertise to help.
Additionally, claims staff employed by home insurance providers are fully trained to deal with difficult situations such as this, said Mike Holiday-Williams, the company's managing director.
Similar advice was given by Martyn Foulds, the senior manager of claims at Halifax Home Insurance.
Our home insurance claims volumes are now triple what we would normally expect at this time of year as a direct result of the recent heavy rain and floods, revealed Mr Foulds.
However, many Britons may have been left out of pocket if they were hit by flooding and had no home insurance policy.
