Home insurance provider suggests peace of mind for wedding gifts

Home insurance provider More Than has urged couples planning a wedding to ensure they have adequate cover for their gifts.

The average gift list in the UK is £1,500 and a home insurance policy to cover this extra expense will provide peace of mind for the couple, the company states.

Furthermore, other wedding items such as dresses, which cost £1,000 on average, may need extra home insurance cover.

Craig Allen, home insurance product manager at More Than, comments: Weddings are expensive and stressful enough without the added financial burden of something being stolen or damaged.

He adds that while couples may not realise it, making a quick phone call to your home insurance provider to ensure that extra cover is in place could benefit them.

More Than's home insurance policy offers £75,000 cover as standard, with up to £7,500 high risk item cover and £150 emergency repairs benefit.

The company, which is part of the Royal SunAlliance group, also offers a wide range of insurance products, such as car insurance and pet insurance.
