Householders looking for a cheap home insurance quote have been alerted to the launch of a new policy from the building society Nationwide which claims to include highly competitive contents insurance cover.
The product provides home insurance cover for valuable electronics such as MP3 players and music downloads, in addition to house insurance cover for the belongings of students while away from home.
Moreover, the outside of houses will also be protected by the building society's policy, which offers up to £1,000 protection for damaged or stolen contents in the garden.
Robin Bailey, insurance director at Nationwide, said the organisation was offering homeowners insurance deals that will provide both savings and cover valuables around the house.
We are delighted to be able to provide a highly competitive and comprehensive home insurance offering, he said.
The new product has some really modern features to reflect the changing needs of property owners in the UK.
MP3 downloads and garden contents are the type of cover features required by today's homeowner.
This month saw the release of the AA British Insurance Premium Index, which surveyed 35 home insurance providers to identify the average cost of homeowners' insurance deals.
The survey estimated the average home insurance quote was approximately £1,513, which represents a rise of one per cent from the previous quarter.
