A home insurance provider is reminding soon to be newly-weds that they offer improved home insurance cover during the wedding preparations and the big day itself.
The home insurance provider Legal &General offers couples an automatic ten per cent increase in the amounts insured during the month before and after the wedding day, free from additional charges.
This cover is designed to bring peace of mind to all involved in the preparations that expensive dresses and presents will be covered in the event of any accidents.
Many will welcome the cover if they are planning to spend the current UK average of £1,300 on the bride's outfit and over £700 on accessories.
Garry Skelton from the insurance provider commented: "The extra insurance cover provides peace of mind so the happy couple are able to enjoy the occasion and go on honeymoon without this worry."
He advises couples to check the insurance is available under the contents section of either their own home insurance policy or their parents' policy, which will be particularly important if they plan to go away on honeymoon and leave expensive items at their family homes.
